Ẹ káàbọ̀ ! to all of our new members and thank you for joining Ìṣèṣe làgbà o!- The International Ifá Forum!

We are officially four months old now!
Happy New Month! I am so thankful for our growing community as always. Ẹ ṣé mo dúpẹ́ o!

First a special shoutout to our new members that joined this month:

@Adupenialafia
@Opeyemi123
@Esukayoade
@Yosore

May our forum serve as a good resource for you all. May our forum serve as a platform for knowledge sharing for our IFA community. Please be sure to check out our growing social media accounts:  Twitter and Tiktok.

A reminder: If you'd like to donate to our community, and help keep us running. You can visit our Patreon. If you would like an alternative method to donate or you want to learn more about our mission, please visit the following: Donation and our Mission.

So what's new?
  • Font increase for better visibility - please let me know if you are having issues with reading the text
  • Changed name of "Community Chat" to "Shoutbox" - this is to clear up confusion about the purpose the interactive box above. The Shoutbox just announces each new topic created. You can also post a message you want everyone to see there.
  • There is a new section in the "Welcome" category called "Greetings". This is a new section where @asobode will greet new members. This section is reply-only
  • Tweaks to advertisement - A tweak so no ads will be displayed on the top that become too distracting for mobile users
  • The usual backend technical technical work to keep our site running
  • New Topics and Members!

What may we expect this new month?

  • More members and new discussions Àṣẹ!
  • Changes and tweaks to improve your experience with us. Maintenance and changes on the backend. All will be notified if we are expected to be in maintenance for some hours.
  • Possibly Bitcoin integration feature. A simple, visible QR code displayed on the front page for those who would like to support us via bitcoin.
  • Stay tuned for more possible features!

Is that it?? (Omowale's short technical blog.. feel free to skip)

To say our social media accounts have grown would be an understatement. We have increasingly gained popularity this month on both Twitter and Tiktok. Also the amount of guests visiting our website has increased. As well as an increase in supporters. May we serve as a beacon of knowledge for our community. Àṣẹ o!

Another note, regarding Google.
A couple months ago some of you may have remembered when I spoke about Google discriminating against us because Yoruba is used on the site. It still baffles me that not one African language is accepted by Google, yet they market themselves as "Progressive" and "A voice for misrepresented groups" Pah!.. Anyway I am on Google's mailing list and I ironically received an email from Google. The email was to inform me of a program to aid websites that are owned by "under-represented groups". Apparently they would help give these sites more exposure. Funny enough we still did not qualify because of their discrimination against Yoruba, and all other African languages. So I thought I would share the irony. No matter, iseselagbao will triumph over those who wish to hinder us! Àṣẹ!
